BIO Rie Ogura is a NYC based cruelty-free makeup artist/hair stylist who works on fashion photo shoots, in film and for weddings. Animal rights has always been important to her ever since she first became aware of the rampant animal testing in the cosmetics industry as a teenager. Learning about the inhumane ways animals were treated really broke her heart and from that moment on she passionately believed that animals should not suffer for the production of cosmetics products. When Rie became a professional makeup artist, it was really important for her to only use products that haven't been tested on animals (cruelty-free products). Since then, she has discovered that she can create any look by using only cruelty-free products. Rie is now taking action to encourage other people to support cruelty-free companies. In the summer of 2018, she organized her first fund raising event, Compassionate Beauty, to raise awareness about animal testing in the cosmetics industry. Rie hopes to continue educating people and raising awareness for this very important cause. No animal should suffer because of the beauty industry. Originally from Tokyo, Japan. Rie previously worked as a professional ballet dancer for over 10 years and had performed with ballet companies in NYC and Canada.
